James P. Weiner, M.D. is an honors graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he received the Dana Scholar Award for Academic Achievement. He received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Weiner did an obstetrics-gynecology internship at Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. His residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation was performed at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
His fellowship training in anesthesia was done at both Naval Hospital and Bowman-Gray Medical Center at Wake Forrest University in North Carolina.
Dr. Weiner is a military veteran and received several U.S. Navy medals and a Presidential Citation. He also saw combat and received a medal for his actions in Beirut, Lebanon.
Dr. Weiner is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Currently, Dr. Weiner is Medical Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation/Anesthesiology at Southwest Florida Rehab and Pain Management Associates in Fort Myers, Florida.
He is a member of the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Society of Anesthesiology, the Florida Medical Society, the Florida Society of Anesthesiology, the International Association for the Study of Pain and the International Spinal Injection Society.
